What is this blog?

As members of the New Tech Network, we are a community. We are not connected by a "particular local area" but rather by a set of ideas, a construct that unites 62 unique schools. In the past our community has been loosely connected by space. Collaborations and ideas have been mostly shared at our annual conference.

With the potential of Echo and the ability to take advantage of many of the social technologies at our disposal, we can become much more engaged and become an active learning community that extends beyond a physical location.

As the Online Community Manager, my role is to help all of you achieve this goal. Ultimately, our community will connect, collaborate and create with each other in order to maximize the true power of the network.

This blog will be the central location for any updates ideas, initiatives, and resources as we move towards becoming a more connected and powerful community of learners. This will be one component of my efforts to create an online community. In addition to sharing ideas on this blog, the national groups in Echo be a way for us to stimulate connections, idea sharing and project creation.

I hope to see you online.
